Tourist first-aid station

This service is offered to all non-residents of Italy and is available 24 hours a day throughout the summer (usually from June to September). All heath services are paid through a per-service charge (Italians use the word “ticket') which varies depending on whether it is a surgery visit, a home call or just a medical prescription.

  • 118 (emergency services – ambulances)
    118 is a toll-free number for emergency services.There is no need for a prefix and you can dial this number from a telephone booth without using a card. The service is active 24 hours a day.By calling this number from any place in Italy (islands included), you alert the health care assistance and ambulance service for transport to the closest hospital or medical centre.
  • 113 (State Police) – 112 (Carabinieri - members of the Carabinieri Corps serving as a police force)Since the introduction of the “single European emergency number 112', there has been a unified management of all emergency calls done to 112 and 113.

  • 115 (fire brigade)
    In case of fire, or if you notice smoke or gas leaks, you can also call the Fire Brigade which operates throughout the national territory and answers to emergency calls with great promptness, also in the case of earthquakes and other calamities.
  • 1515 (forest fires)
    This is the number of the State Forestry Department for environmental emergencies. It is active every day, 24 hours a day. The Forestry department works to protect the environmental and landscape heritage and more especially, to prevent forest fires which a constant threat during the summer months.
  • 1530 (national coastguard – marine rescue)
    In the case of a malfunction of your leisure boat or for any emergency in Italian waters, you can use this number to contact the National Coastguard.
  • 803.116 (Emergency Road Breakdown Service)
    This breakdown service is offered by ACI (Italian Car Club) to all club members and clients. By calling this number you can request ACI services anywhere in Italy (ACI services consist of breakdown services, substitute car, car at home, free, active only in Italy, 24 hours per day).
