Italy is 1 hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (and two hours ahead in the summer)
Day light saving
Like in all EU countries, Day Light Saving starts on the last weekend of March when the clock hands are moved forward an hour (from 2:00 to 3:00) and ends on the 31st of October, when the clock hands are taken back an hour (3:00 to 2:00)
In 2013, daylight saving time will be from March 30 to October 26.
Opening and closing hours
The usual opening and closing hours in Alghero are:
Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:30. Sunday: afternoons
In the historical centre most shops stay open until 23.00.
Almost all supermarkets are open all day long and also on Sundays.
Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 13:00 and 16:30 to 20:00 (or 16:00 to 19:30).
Some shops in the historical centre open on Sundays if it is also a public holiday.
Winter sales normally start the first week in January and end at the beginning of March while the summer sales start at the beginning of July and end in mid-September.
