The Italian Championships Absolute

The A.S.D.C Sardina Open this year is proud to organize the twenty second edition of the Italian championships absolute wheelchair tennis after the success achieved during the international tournaments of Sardinia Open Wheelchair tennis.

The event will take place in Alghero on Tennis Club's courts, from May 30th to June 2nd.

There will be present about 60 athletes divided in 3 categories, 32 men, 12 women, 12 quad, in both specialties, single and double.

Leading athletes are: in male class, Fabian Mazzei, Italian champion unbeaten in Italy since 12 years and winner of 48 national prizes, in female class, Marianna Lauro, athlete of our association, Italian champion unbeaten in Italy since 2005 and finally Marco Innocenti for quad class.

Thank to the events organized by our association, during these years, and the help of our team, we are proud to say that a lot of young disabled people, not only champions like Marianna Lauro, are approaching to tennis and other sports after some dramatic events that changed completely their life.

As usual, like in the previous editions, is expected the presence of lots of students from different schools of the district, that will take part in debates asking questions about the problems of disabled people.
The event will be followed and commented by some important national and regional channels and newspapers.
